When the Genadier was being announced along its path to production and sales, Ineos made promises regarding the do-it-yourself repair-ability of the Grenadier aided by workshop manuals they said would be made available to owners. This was (and remains) a BIG part of why I continued to be obsessed with this vehicle. It is quite a leap of faith to purchase such an expensive piece of machinery from a new manufacturer with no particular track record. I know Ineos Petro-Chemical has a history, and I am sure SJR is a tenacious businessman who gets things done (proof in my driveway), but owning this vehicle with its associated lack of dealer support and parts availability is not something that should be asked of any customer.

Sure, dealers will want their service calls, but some of us bought this truck with the idea that we may be taking it places off the beaten path. A free tow to the nearest dealer, while nice in some situations, does not replace this original promise of parts availability (24 hrs even!) and workshop manuals for do-it-yourself owners. At the very least, those of us who paid and waited for years deserve to see these promises kept. If today, Ineos wants to think twice about their service model, it should be for the new depositors and purchasers who go in eyes wide open.

I have already asked my dealer when the service manuals will be ready....but no answer yet. I hope Ineos does not let us down. I strongly urge all depositors who are concerned to write a letter to Ineos expressing your desire for the promised manuals and parts availability to come to fruition.

While the Grenadier was in its early design stages and being revealed, the console showed the great concept of having the switchgear mounted on individually removable panels held in with simple screws easily accessible. Sadly, this is not the case. At least the ceiling console panel is a single large plastic panel which does allow the individual switch panels to be removed even though they each have their own screws!

The panel does look like it could be sliced into the individual panels, and maybe this is the intent. But at least for now, changing or troubleshooting an individual switch is not as easy as removing 4 screws and having a look. I would like separate panels, and I am hoping there is a way to make this happen. I did not opt for the expensive add-on switches, breakers and pre-wiring, and was hoping to do something custom myself. Time will tell!

Well, have to throw in my two cents. The steering definitely has a large dead zone. When the truck needs a minor steering correction due to wind or road crown, etc, the correction may require rotation through the dead zone before the minor correction can be made. As a result the wheel is moved more than it should have to be for small correction that otherwise might not annoy. It is better than some trucks I have owned, but also worse than others. It seems like it should be resolvable and I hope Ineos or aftermarket do just that.

In the mean time I am getting good at making the correction, but it does keep you busy on the freeway. For such a tight truck, it is surprising to me that this is the case. This does not condemn the truck in my view, but it can (and I am sure will) be better!

I have noticed a low frequency resonance rhythmic thrumming when I am on the highway between 68-73 mph. It disappears above and below and does not seem to be related to tires (KO2). I have read on other forums that others have experienced this as well, so curious to see if Ineos is aware and what they might be able to do about it. It is something that should be resolved especially since 70 is a very usable speed that is now a bit annoying.

Anyone else notice this? Or maybe more importantly dont notice this? It would be great if there are some who dont have it since that would give me hope that it can be adjusted out!

Well, while ADAS was not overly bothersome, it was still annoying. Notice past tense. I removed fuse F134 listed as ADAS Camera, and ADAS is gone. I do get an occasional red alert message on the 'center display' that says camera is disabled, and there are also a couple of fault icons that light up on the steering wheel 'Telltale Cluster'. One is for 'Forward Collision Warning' and one is for 'Front Camera View'....both notifying me that these two systems are inoperable. I dont want either system, and so I made a small 3d printed black plastic mask that hides these two warning icons from my view.

I am pleased with the result and it will suffice until some re-programming can (hopefully) be accomplished. I'll send a photo later with it on the display.
